ABOUT. Photographer Tanya Xmyra

Photography has always been an important part of my life. I first picked up my dad’s film camera when I was 13, and for almost 20 years now photography has filled every one of my days with happiness.

After a long time working in fine art photography, I decided to try my hand at weddings. I found a depth in wedding photography that I hadn’t experienced anywhere else. It’s such a privilege to be able to use my experience to create images that mean so much to the people they’re for.

I love everything natural and authentic: laughter, tears and emotions, the little unplanned details that most people don’t notice. Real moments and genuine connections are the best material I could ask for.

I’m always discreet and relaxed, and simply happy to be anywhere I can take photos. My style sits somewhere between documentary and relaxed editorial. I capture your day as it naturally unfolds, while taking the time to create beautiful, considered images along the way.

I shoot on Canon film and digital cameras and use different film formats (35 mm, 120 and half-frame) to capture the atmosphere of the day and add a little bit of film magic.

Please feel free to ask me any questions.
